FIRST COMMUNAL PROBLEMS SOLVING, THEN ASPHALTING

Milan Djurdjevic, president of Palilula Municipal Assembly, visited the people from `Nikodije Stojanovic - Tatko` Street where the works on reconstruction on sewerage and water pipe and supply system are active at the moment. The works were continued by Public Enterprise `Naisus`, since the activities on taking off previous macadam from the streets had been completed. It was also done after Public Enterprise `Directorate for city land development` demanded to engage co-performers and after the demands of the people from this street to do more in this area in order to solve the problems of water pipe and atmosphere system problems that were all taken into account. This all was accomplished together by Palilula Municipal help.

INVESTING IN RURAL TOURISM

After the initiative of Council of citizens Vukmanovo village, Palilula Municipality urgently provided 60m3 of material for streets structuring in the sum of money of 18, 000 dinars for covering two streets. With the programme of arrangement of city structuring land and building in this part of municipality, certain works were planned on the regulation of infrastructure in this village-says Milos Stojkovic, municipal councilor of Palilula Municipality.

Vukmanovo village is situated on the slopes of Selicevica mountain and stands for one true big natural reservation. With very rich archeological and cultural heritage this place is simply ideal for the development of rural and eco-tourism.

CHILDREN UNDER THE RAINBOW` CAMP STARTED

18.08.2009.

Within the realization of `Children under the rainbow`, that was approved to horse riding club `Nonios` by the Ministry for Diaspora of Republic of Serbia, in Gornje Medjurovo village where `Nonios` is situated, the celebration for the whole project was organized. In the name one of the sponsors of this project - Palilula Municipality, the participants were welcomed by Boban Mikic, member of Municipal Council. He emphasized that `the support to this project and `Nonios` club is the affirmation of true values. `We expect that children from Diaspora with young people from our region, establish good cooperation, have good time together and get familiar with our surrounding, tradition and culture of this particular

SAINT PETKA 2009` - HORSE RIDING CUP ORGANIZED

08.08.2009.

First international horse riding tournament in show jumping - `Cup of Saint Petka 2009` that was organized on August 8 `Nonius` horse riding horse on the playground of football club `Moravac` in Gornje Medjurovo, successfully promoted horse riding sport that has had long tradition in Nis.

Horse riding tournament, that was organized in the presence of many guests and visitors and under the sponsorship of Palilula Municipality and City of Nis, was opened by Novakovic, president of Palilula Municipality. `This is not the first time this Municipality and the City help the organization of international sport events and manifestations. For us, in Palilula Municipality, the support to horse riding sport and club `Nonius` is strengthening tourist potentials that we have on our territory, but also the realization of sport – recreational and health activities, especially in the work with children and young people`-emphasized the president during his opening speech.

ON CITIZENS SERVICE

06.08.2009.

Aiming to satisfy users` services – Palilula citizens and all the employed of Palilula Municipality, small area was arranged and adapted next to municipal building including two benches and a waste basket. Project of approaching this area is also active at the moment. The area will be in future ideal place for the relaxation of the citizens who need finish something in the Municipal building, but also for the employed Municipal workers in the time of their break.

After the introduction of politics and objectives of quality and successfully implemented certification of quality management system according to ISO 9001:2008 standard, Palilula Municipality is closer and closer to the citizens, as well as its service and responsible local Government to European standards.

MUNICIPALITY – CITIZENS COOPERATION

06.08.2009.

Public Enterprise `Mediana` joined the ecological action of citizens on the arrangement of residential blocks greenery in `Crvena Zvezda`- Triglavska street -part of Palilula. This action was organized with the support of Palilula Municipality. Part of the space in front of these buildings, that was once just a dump place, finally was cleaned with the help of this public communal enterprise mechanization. Palilula Municipality provided good soil for this area for transforming it into park surface. `We have provided and put benches and we have a plan to improve the lights and waste baskets` – emphasizes Slavoljub Savic one of the initiator of citizen initiative in this part of Palilula.The first results gave impulse the neighbors on further action – they offer help, suggest new solutions.

PALILULA MUNICIPALITY SUCCESSFULLY WENT THROUGH CERTIFICATION OF QUALITY MANAGEMENT SYSTEM ACCORDING TO ISO 9001:2008 STANDARD

04.08.2009.

Palilula Municipality established quality system management according to ISO 9001:2008 STANDARD, after it had received positive recommendations of the certified firm SGS (Switzerland), to provide certificate to this local government.

Palilula Municipality is among three local self-governments in Serbia (Stari Grad, Novi Beograd, Sabac) that with ratification of this quality system standard ISO 9001:2008 and getting positive recommendation of SGS-certifaction firm, affirms the fact that its quality standard is capable of reaching results that came from the policy and aims of quality and this refers first of all to the satisfaction of service users – Palilula citizens and all employed in the Municipality – emphasized president Novakovic.

LOCAL COMMUNITY BUILDINGS – FOR SUCCESSFUL WORK OF LOCAL SELF-GOVERNMENT

04.08.2009.

Palilula Municipality organized public discussion on the proposition of `Decision on local self-government`. In the work of this group, that was organized in NKC, participated PhD Igor Novakovic, president of Palilula Municipality, Milan Djurdjevic, president of Palilula Assembly, Vesna Jovanovic Jankovic, general secretary of Palilula Municipality, members of Council of Palilula Municipality, members of Palilula Assembly, presidents of so far formed Citizens` Councils and all interested Palilula citizens.

In his introductory speech, Milan Djurdjevic, president of the Assembly of Palilula Municipality, introduced the present participants in the discussion with the proposition of the `Decision on local self-government` and emphasized that the authorities of Palilula Municipality...
